On 29th June 2016 in North Port of Gdańsk the final demonstration of the BONUS Anchor achievements from 2 years took place. The event was attended by 25 people, including guests from the Harbour Master of Gdansk, the Maritime Office in Gdynia, Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, Gdynia Maritime University and the Polish Space Agency.
In the first part of the Project Coordinator and Partners presented the Anchor peoject and its main results as well as the main assumptions of the practical demonstration. The demonstration included different manoeuvres to challenge and show the functionality of Anchor system composed of two main parts: Harbour Infrastructure and Pilot Assist sub-Ship (PAS). The PAS part was demonstrated on board of Kontroler 20 and Harbour infrastructure in the Port Control Tower.
The aim of the project ANCHOR was to deliver the Captain Assistant for Navigation and Routing during Operations in Harbour system for large ships incoming to and outgoing from harbour. The main objectives is to increase the safety of ships movement in harbours and also to make the navigation in harbours easier. The system is directed to the professionals responsible for supervising the safety (both people and environment) in the coastal area of ports. The potential clients of this system are scientific entities such as maritime schools as well as harbour operators, maritime pilots, captains, training centres.
